MBBS degree issuance in Pakistan: The 79th Syndicate meeting of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) decided that the degrees will be issued within three months of the declaration of MBBS final examination results.

UHS has taken this decision to eliminate the need for candidates to wait for an extended period.

This decision was taken in a syndicate meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore.

The meeting also decided to reduce the time taken for degree preparation.

Additionally, the syndicate decided to label degrees and transcripts issued on court orders with “By Order of the Court.”

The Syndicate also approved the new service structure of UHS for 2024.

MBBS degree issuance in Pakistan

It was decided to issue a public notice from UHS regarding inclusion of pharmacy colleges.

After this, institutions located within the geographical boundaries of Punjab will be able to apply for inclusion under the UHS Act. Approval was granted to begin a four-year BSN nursing program at UHS.

The members were informed that at present, 79 nursing institutes are affiliated to the University. The nursing degree program will begin at the Jinnah campus of UHS.

Additionally, admission to the MS Nursing program was decided to be conditional on three years of compulsory service after obtaining the degree. Such candidates may obtain the degree by paying full fees or may be exempted from the program fee on completion of a three-year bond with UHS after obtaining the degree. The meeting also approved various administrative appointments.

Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Pro-VC UHS Prof. Nadia Naseem, Principal Quaid Azam Medical College Prof. Sophia Farooq, Prof. Arshad Cheema, Dr. Zahid Parvez, Professor Sidra Salim, Professor Dr. Salim, Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Professor Maryam Malik, Professor Sameena Kausar and Additional Secretaries of Health and Treasury Departments were present in the meeting.
